Welcome to Conisborough College

A forward-looking school offering a vibrant learning environment for boys & girls aged 11-16.

_DSC0864_TIF_7871462402It gives me great pleasure to introduce our website.  At Conisborough College we are committed to ensuring all our children enjoy coming to school and achieve to their full potential.

Our students will leave our school as well qualified, confident young adults who are fully equipped to succeed in the 21st century. All members of our school community are committed to making Conisborough College a truly outstanding school.

I was appointed as the new Headteacher of the school in September 2008. Since my appointment, the school has entered into an exciting partnership with Colfe's and successfully moved into our fantastic new building.  The new school is fully equipped to the highest specification across all curriculum areas. Our students have access to state of the art facilities and work in a friendly, disciplined environment that is designed to meet the demands of the 21st century.

We are proud that for five consecutive years our students have achieved the college's best ever examination results.  In terms of student progress, we are one of the top performing schools in the country

I hope you enjoy our website and look forward to welcoming you into our school in the near future.

Mr R. Ellis - Executive Headteacher

Aspire, Believe and Succeed.

Adverse Weather Conditions

snowAdverse weather conditions and unplanned events

Conisborough is a community comprehensive school and our intention is to always remain open in adverse weather conditions and during unplanned events such as Transport Strikes.  We have never been in a position in which we have had to close the school to our families.

Each academic year we prepare a Risk Assessment in the event of snow, a copy of which can be found on the website. Our premises team are fully equipped to ensure the school is safe and all access areas are cleared of snow / ice and gritted.

Before the site is fully opened our Health and Safety team will check the premises and the temperature of the building.  Should there be snow fall, parents and carers should check the school website for updates.  If there is disruption to transport services it can mean some staff cannot make it to school.  In such cases we have a prepared timetable of activities for students.

The winter time is crucial for our GCSE students as they prepare for exams and we will prioritise these classes in the first instance.

We understand that some children will find it difficult to get to school if there are severe disruptions to the transport system and parents and carers should make that judgement especially if there is a health and safety concern.

In this case students should make use of the resources on the school website and the E Library plus other assignments and tasks set to study at home.

On returning to school a note from the parent/carer should be written in the student's Contact Book and presented to the Form Tutor.
