Shakespeare Schools Festival 2011

RomeoJuliet1Tuesday 1 November was another big night for the work of William Shakespeare, as Conisborough College once again took part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival.

This year, drama students from Conisborough College  performed a version of Romeo and Juliet at Lewisham’s Broadway Theatre.

This 21st century version of the Shakespeare play was set in a modern day war.  The audience was bigger than it has ever been, with all four schools taking part, well represented.  As always we looked at a modern interpretation of the play, with characters dressed in army outfits, with scary white and camouflage war stripe make up.

On Thursday 6 October, Conisborough College hosted ‘The Oxford Symposium’, which was held by Oxford International Biomedical Centre (OIBC)

Leading medical researchers from Oxford University discussed their latest findings with students from Conisborough College for Business and Enterprise, Colfe’s Independent School, Sedgehill, Bonus Pastor, Prendergast-Ladywell, Addey and Stanhope, and Trinity School.

Conisborough's Best Results Ever!

_MG_3689On Thursday 25 August, past Year 11 students came into school to collect their GCSE results which they had worked so hard to achieve.

87% of our students achieved 5 of more A*-C grades and 3 students secured scholarships into Colfe's Sixth Form.

EAL working with primary schools

Journeys from around the world

Photos_For_Book_Cover_10At the end of the Summer term the EAL department took a group of Year 9 students to visit Holbeach Primary School.  They delivered a presentation and varios workshops around the theme of 'Journeys'.

Our students put on a great show and the workshops were fantastic!

Year 5 students had a chance to learn some basic Polish phrases, design their own henna tattoos, learn to write simple phrases in Mandarin and try out some steps of a Sri Lankan dance.  Conisborough College students were very confident, organised and professional whilst leading the workshops and the Year 5 students loved them!
