The game was played in a very competitive manner between both schools and the team showed a lot of passion throughout the game. Well done to all the team players, who were victorious 11-1.  Keep up the good work.

RowingwebThe students of the Progress Unit had a fun filled and energising experience while participating in the indoor Rowing Competition at the Charter School in Dulwich on Thursday 28 January.

Our young people showed an incredible effort to overcome nerves, demonstrating a competitive spirit and making a hugely positive contribution to the day and to the reputation of Conisborough College.

Throughout the day Progress students showed excellent support towards each other and strong relationships with other mainstream students. The key rowers were Alicia and Michael for the fastest girl and boy within the group.

"It was a great day because we showed good team work and we tried our best. We were happy when we did well in the relay." Progress Unit

Throughout this term, specialist sessions have been arranged for a selection of students who have been trained by professional coaches to develop skills, knowledge, confidence, self-belief and motivation.  Students have responded to the pressure of training extremely positively, displaying some outstanding skills, both practically and academically.

During October, Year 10 and 11 boys visited Marlborough Sixth Form College to play a friendly game of Football.  The boys gave a good account of themselves, especially as the other team were two years above them.

IMG 8359They demonstrated some wonderful football skills, which secured them a glorious 13 - 1 victory.  With the success of the programme, the club has now been able to take a new dimension with 20 young people taking part in the Junior Sports Leadership Level 1 Award – This has been delivered by London FA and will run until the end of term.  With the possibility of additional activities being added, the Elite Club is becoming more inclusive and aims to push students further with their sporting interest.
