Upcoming trip to Zambia 2017

TournamentOur aim is to continue the work of our previous students started!!

In July 2017 three Key Stage 4 students will be going to Zambia with the Tag Rugby Development Trust as part of a team of volunteers to teach Tag Rugby & run an exciting inter school festival. Whilst there they will be involved & working with numerous schools and hundreds of children to improve their lives and give them a fantastic & exciting experience. The work will also involve working with local teachers, rugby coaches & volunteers to ensure that the work of the charity is sustainable in the area & country. We will also be working on a community project where we are aiming to improve their school building. As students from an inner London School, this will be a life changing opportunity!

GiveItATry2'Give it a try!' is a social enterprise using rugby as a tool to build character in young people within state schools in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham. 'Give it a try!' have been delivering rugby coaching pastoral support and mentoring since October 2014 and have now coached a large proportion of Conisborough students.

'Give it a try!' delivers sessions to Years 7, 8 and 9 students as well as running two lunchtime clubs and some GCSE sessions for Y10 students.  The programme is a great opportunity to support transition from school to club rugby and offers competitive rugby fixtures and festivals for students to practise and refine what they have learnt in PE.
