Rugby2webConisborough College are currently developing and training a group of Year 10 and 11 students through England Rugby's 'Young Rugby Ambassador' Programme.

The programme is being delivered by Give it a try! our rugby partner and offers the students the opportunity to gain recognition for supporting rugby in their school and in the wider community. It develops life skills, builds confidence and resilience as well as building character.

The students involved in the programme supported the Lewisham Year 5 & Year 6 London Youth Games qualifiers on Thursday 23 November, by being referees and pitch marshals and will be delivering an England Rugby Mega Fest event in February 2018.

Once trained as coaches, through the England Rugby Key Stage 4 Level 1 Young Leader Award, the students will be introducing TAG rugby to local primary schools to promote the game and its core values: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship, supporting the development of community cohesion.

The school has recently received funding of £2,000 from the Lewisham Local Assemblies Fund to further support the programme.  If you are interested in becoming an England Rugby's Young Rugby Ambassador, please contact Coach Spike Kenny.
