On Thursday 11 March, the Lewisham Business Award ceremony was held at the glorious Blackheath Halls. It really was a night to remember.
Year 10 students, Iyefa Bangura and Jessica Izunwa-Fashetan were both nominated for the Young Apprentice 2010, for winning the Lewisham inter-schools competition.
The evening started with drinks and nibbles served by waiters, from there we were led to our tables where there was a 'reserved' table just for the short listed students. It made us feel good to come to such a grand occasion with all the best business professionals, dressed nicely in suits and evening wear. We even got to have our pictures taken with the Mayor of Lewisham, Sir Steve Bullock.
The ceremony was the opened by Sir Steve Bullock with a wonderful speech, and was followed by comedian Nathan Caton, who helped announce the nominees and winners.
The winning advert from our school was then screened for all to see.
there were 10 categories including 'Young Lewisham Apprentice'.
The night showcased the best businesses in lewisham and it felt great to be part of the success story.
