LIVE Voices

This term our Gospel Choir have certainly hit some high notes. They were recently privileged to take part in the 10th anniversary Lewisham Live Festival which takes place annually throughout the Borough and our Gospel Choir were excited to sing at the Broadway Theatre as part of Live Voices.

The group, led by the hugely talented Mrs Maloney, meet weekly to practice a variety of songs. The majority of the group are Year 7 students and this has allowed them to not only bond as a Year group in the early stages of their school career but to grow into a team of confident young vocalists.

On Tuesday 19 March, after a morning of rehearsals, our nervous but excited group set off for the Broadway Theatre were they were supported by friends, family and staff as they raised the roof with their renditions of 'Blinded by your Grace' by Stormzy and 'One moment, One people' by Beccy Owen.

"The experience was very exciting and I could not wait to go and perform for everyone. It was really nice to hear the primary schools singing and also be able to sing along with them"  -  Aya Kebladj 7R

On Friday 22 March the group also got to perform for the Mayor of Lewisham, Damien Egan and Deputy Head of Colfe's School, Donna Graham when they visited the school for the morning. They were both hugely impressed with the talent of the Choir.
