Urban Synergy #Ready4Work

On Tuesday 26 March, Conisborough College hosted the Urban Synergy 'Ready 4 Work' day for Year 10 students. The day was a huge success with over 50 volunteer business professionals who took a day out of their busy schedules to spend interviewing students in Year 10 and running various employability workshops in order to get our students interview ready and set for the working environment.

The day kicked off to a great start with welcome and introduction speeches from our Chair of Governors; Victoria Whittle, Urban Synergy's Leila Thomas and an inspirational preamble from Actor and BBC Broadcaster Eddie Nester MBE.

We welcomed a variety of different business professionals on the day and Year 10 students came dressed in appropriate business wear and looked exceptionally smart.

During the day students had mock interviews and were given positive and constructive feedback from the business professionals. They took part in other various workshops including CV, work etiquette, goal-setting, managing difficult situations in the workplace and presentation skills.

Year 10 immersed themselves in the whole day, soaking up every piece of advice given to them.
At the end of a busy day, students, staff and volunteers came together to de-brief on a great days work and students were awarded with certificates from Urban Synergy.

A huge thank you to Urban Synergy for giving our students the opportunity to experience this day, which will set them off on the right foot into employment.
