On Monday 17 November a group of students from both Conisborough College and Deptford Green School went on a residential trip to Münster in Germany.
Students from Geschwister Scholl Gymnasium had previously visited us at Conisborough College back in September and enjoyed their visit immensely. On our first day in Münster, the German students shared their impressions of their London visit through video art on their iPads at the LWL Museum. We had a tour of the exhibition 'Bare Life' including many major London artists like David Hockney, Francis Bacon & Lucian Freud. Students ate traditional German food; potato with apple sauce for lunch and currywurst for dinner!
On our second day we had a tour of the school from the Headteacher Herr Wilheim Byeitenback and observed an Art class and English lessons.
Later in the week students visited the Museum of Art & Culture in Münster, as the students had been learning about German Art & Architecture from the Renaissance period to modern day. We even managed to squeeze in a visit to Münster Cathedral.
The students from Conisborough, Deptford Green and Geschwister all got along very well and learned a lot about German culture. The hope is that this exchange project will last for many years to come. Mrs Berhane, Miss Fairbairn and Mr Pinnard would like to thank all of the students involved in this trip for such an enjoyable week and for their enthusiasm.
