The 'GET SET' network

Following our submission of a written application, we have received the special news that Conisborough College has been officially welcomed into London 2012’s ‘Get Set’ Network’ in recognition of our commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic Values.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) have awarded us a plaque and certificate to acknowledge our involvement in the London 2012 education programme.

As members of the ‘GET SET’ Network we will receive access to exclusive competitions and 2012 Games related opportunities over the coming years.

Sebastian Coe, chairman of LOCOG, said: “When London won the right to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we made a clear promise to use the power of the 2012 Games to inspire young people".

Conisborough College is proud to be a member of the ‘Get Set’ network and to be acknowledged for our exciting work around the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic Values of inspiration, courage, determination and equality.

Being welcomed in to the Get Set network means we have been given permission to use the London 2012 Education Logo until 31st December 2012.

This designed, by Reiss Evans (18), a design student from Canterbury College, will soon appear on our school letterhead paper.  Reiss Evans won a national competition in September 2009 to create an education-themed infill for the London 2012 Olympic logo.

Over the forthcoming months we will be using the Games to inspire our young people to lead healthy and active lives, which fits in excellently with the work that we continue to do as a school with national ‘Healthy Schools’ status.......eat well, get active and feel good!
