Enterprise in a Box

EinB1This term, 60 of our Year 9 Business Studies students took part in a practical Business workshop facilitated by MyBnk as part of their marketing unit. The students were introduced to the concept of social enterprise where they practised pitching and selling.

Working in teams, the students identified their target audience, completed a business plan, set prices and also analysed the risks and rewards using SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weakness Opportunities, Threats).

EinaB1Congratulations to our sixty Year 9 Business Studies students who have successfully completed the 'Enterprise in a Box' project throughout November.

The programme was facilitated by 'My Bnk' an Educational charity.  Our Year 9 social entrepreneurs got a real taste of the commercial world by working in teams selling seed bombs, divine chocolates, along with health and beauty products to the school community as well as family and friends.

The winning team won a business lunch and a trip to an International law firm in the City.

business1On Tuesday 17 November, thirty Year 9 & 10 Business Studies students were given the amazing opportunity to visit Societe Generale, a multinational banking and financial services company in Global Transaction Banking, International Retail Banking, Financial services, Corporate and Investment Banking. Established in 28 locations worldwide with 4,000 employees.


Edwards Wildman Law Firm

Edwards Wildman1On Wednesday 20 October a small group of Year 10 Business Studies students were given the amazing opportunity to visit the Edwards Wildman Law Firm in central London.

Edwards Wildman is a global law firm with over 15 sites worldwide.  During the day students were given a presentation from an organisation which educates the younger generation about city life, as well as teaching them valuable ways to enter the working world. 


Business trip to HSBC

HSBC3On Monday 11 October a group of Year 10 Business Studies students had the opportunity to spend a day at HSBC headquarters in Canary Wharf.

When we got to HSBC HQ we were introduced to Ms Arnold - Head of Compliance Department who briefed us about the history of HSBC.
