MiddleAges2Key Stage 3 History

The course aims to increase your interest in why past events are important and to help you to draw your own conclusions by looking at historical evidence. Studying History involves map study, detective work, factual and imaginative writing, discussion, group work and individual studies.

The subject is taught in four units and is assessed by three written exams at the end of the course. There is no coursework. Below are examples of the units taught, which may be subject to change.

 

Edexcel GCSE History (9-1)

1. British Thematic Study with Historic Environment

  • Crime and punishment in Britain c1000 to present
  • Whitechapel, c.1870-1900: Crime, policing and the inner city

2. British Depth Study

  • Early Elizabethan England, 1558-1588

3. Period Study

  • Superpower relations and the Cold War, 1941-1991

4. Modern Depth Study

  • Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1919-1939

Examination Details:

This subject is taught in four units and is assessed by three written exams at the end of the course.
