On Saturday 7 December, a selection of Year 9 students attended Colfe’s School to take part in ‘Project Rugby 2 South’.
It was a fantastic day, with 160 students taking part in the Project from 5 schools across the South of London.
It was great to see so many of our students attending on a Saturday, in their own time and really connecting with the project.
Project Rugby is run by Premiership Rugby in collaboration with England Rugby and is designed to increase participation in the game by people from traditionally underrepresented groups:
- Black Asian & Minority Ethnic People
- People from Lower Socio-Economic backgrounds
- Disabled People
The project provides accessible opportunities for people to participate in the game at a time and place that is easily accessible.
“I am extremely proud of the Year 9 students that came on the day and participated with eagerness and great sportsmanship”
Mrs O’Doherty – Head of Year 9
Project Rugby 3 South will take place in January 2020 and will target Year 10 students – Project Rugby Team
