On Wednesday 3 and 10 July a group of Year 7 and 8 students went on a trip to Millwall Football Club. This was a unique opportunity to look at different aspects of life at a professional football club.
Students took part in a series of team building exercises, both in the classroom and on the pitch. The club introduced them to various members of their community trust team, who explained some of the career pathways that are associated with a football club. After a choice of lunches in the Trust’s café, students were taken on a tour of the home dressing room and media wall where interviews take place.
Inspiring Your Future
They were shown round the club shop and learnt about how the merchandising worked. They looked into one of the hospitality suites, where we bumped into the CEO of the club. We were then taken down the player’s tunnel to the pitch. Students got the opportunity to have pictures taken sitting in the Millwall player’s dugout. This was a great experience for these students and will hopefully inspire them with their futures.
