During October, students from Year 11 went to Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex, to complete their physical fieldwork, as part of their Geography GCSE.

They had a fantastic day, the weather was dry and the students were able to complete a series of primary data collection.

Our primary data collection included a Bipolar analysis and field sketches, which supported them to answer their main hypothesis – The Human responses are mitigating against coastal erosion and reducing flood risk on Walton-on-the Naze.

We were able to prove the hypothesis correct by analysing the management strategies that had been placed along the coastline and assess their overall effectiveness.  The student’s theoretical coastal classwork came alive during this trip.
