The Conisborough Commitment

Conisborough College is committed to ensuring that every student is both challenged and inspired to achieve their best possible academic results whilst also developing the foundations for happy and fulfilled lives.

We make it our mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’ – and this includes students, staff and the wider community. We believe that the best is achieved within a climate of high expectation, and we aim to deliver on this commitment through living our school values:

Kindness

We will be thoughful and considerate with the language we use.

We understand we are all different and will be compassionate and empathetic towards each other.

We believe in celebrating diversity and difference.

Determination

We believe in having goals and ambition.

We understand that determination requires hard work and resilience.

We do not give up when we experience setbacks, we carry on and accept they are part of our path to success.

Excellence

We strive for the best in everything we do.

We understand that excellence comes from positive habits, practised regularyl.

We have the highest expectations of ourselves and others and do not make excuses.

Responsibility

We take responsibility for our words and our actions.

We own our mistakes and learn from them.

We look after ourselves, our peers and our school environment because we believe in shared responsibility.

These values are diffused across the school so that in every activity and lesson students partake in they are taught to apply them in their every day lives. We believe that by embracing these core qualities each and every person will be equipped with the attributes needed to be successful, both while at school and in the years beyond.

An education that inspires

Our aim is to provide an excellent education for all our students; an education which brings out the best in all of them and prepares them for success in life.

Our curriculum is designed to provide children with the core knowledge they need for success in education and later life, to maximise their cognitive development, to develop the whole person and the talents of the individual and to allow all children to become active and economically self-sufficient citizens.

An Education with Character

We believe that students flourish when they have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of activities and experiences outside of their lessons, our diverse enrichment programme has character development at its heart.

Lucy Oragano – Principal
The role of my team of teaching staff at Conisborough College is bring this curriculum to life and excite our students in the pursuit of knowledge.

Student Leadership

There are many opportunities for students to develop leadership skills at Conisborough College.

From formal programmes such as the School Council or Sports Leaders Awards, to positions of responsibility working in the library, as a School Ambassador, or a Prefect, there are plenty of different routes for young people to choose.

After school clubs

Activities take place on most days after school, whether that be academic, sporting or creative.

We encourage students to take part in as many as possible to try and nurture passions and talents.

Strength in diversity

Our students bring with them a diversity of experiences and backgrounds both socially and culturally and our school community is built on the strengths of this local diversity.
