Tracking Progress

As an inclusive school, we believe that achievement in all areas of school life should be rewarded and celebrated.  We challenge students to excel in all areas of school life – academic, cultural and sporting.  We are incredibly lucky to have such a diverse school community and feel it is our responsibility to educate our students about equality by ensuring our curriculum is inclusive and encourages our children to value all individuals.

Our partnership with Millwall Community Trust enables students, both boys and girls, to gain access to world class facilities whilst also having the opportunity to follow vocational courses connected to the sports industry.

We are proud to be an inclusive school that serves the local community

Recognitions are displayed on the screens around school for the whole of the following week. At the end of each term there is a Celebration Assembly and certificates are awarded for progress and attainment in each subject.

Reporting Progress

Years 7 to 10

There are 2 assessment points in the academic year for year 7 to year 10 students where we report academic progress, attitude to learning and homework, percentage attendance and punctuality to school. The assessments will take place mid-year and at the end of the academic year. Students will be provided a rank and placed into sets from this data which reflects how GCSE grades are awarded. Set changes will only occur after the 2 assessment points and is based upon their performance in the assessment.

We want to show that students who work hard in all their subject areas make big improvements in their performance, therefore the top 10 students’ names are celebrated after this process is completed in assemblies, letters home and given various prizes for their hard work.  We also celebrate the students who make the biggest progress as we feel that this is just as important, also receiving letters home, being celebrated in assemblies and receiving prizes.

There are 2 further points in the year where we will report attitude to learning and homework, attendance and punctuality to school.

Year 11

Year 11 students will sit 2 mock examinations in November and March. Students GCSE mock examination and prediction grades will be reported as well as attitude to learning, attitude to homework, percentage attendance and punctuality to school. The November mock examination grades will be used as a basis to make predictions when students are applying for further education, employment, or training. Students must prepare for mock examinations to maximise outcomes to secure their places at their chosen college or employer.
